ELLIOTT®
ANNOUNCES
ONLINE
SERVICE
Effective immediately,
clients of ELLIOTT® & Company Appraisers can order and receive
appraisals via e-mail. Any client looking to decrease turnaround time,
improve convenience and save on overnight charges, without any sacrifice
to product quality or security, should considering ordering and
receiving appraisals online. Each online appraisal will come complete
with graphics, digital color photographs and digital signatures.
"We've been doing electronic transmission of appraisals for quite some
time in some of our offices. From this experience, we have realized that
this method is an important part of the future of the appraisal
business," said company President Charlie Elliott. "We are now pleased
to offer online service in all of our offices as a standard method of
product delivery."
This does not mean that orders
cannot be received by fax or that appraisals cannot be sent
conventionally by an ELLIOTT® & Company Appraisers office. It simply
means that any client in need of an appraisal has the option to order
and/or receive it via e-mail through our company.
Since e-mail messages are
delivered almost immediately, this obviously shortens the turnaround
time. Furthermore, a client who orders an appraisal delivered by e-mail
can produce as many original copies as he wishes. These transmitted
appraisals can be, in turn, relayed, at the push of a button, to other
locations within the same immediacy that they were originally delivered.
Overnight charges are a thing of the past to a client who receives his
or her appraisals via e-mail. And, the online appraisal comes to him
faster than it would have from the overnight carrier.
Appraisals delivered online
from an ELLIOTT® office are transmitted and remain in a secure
environment until received by the client. Electronic signatures
automatically disappear if any tampering takes place.
Once a client has an e-mail
address, all he or she needs is Adobe® Reader software in order to
receive his or her appraisals electronically. Unlike most software
programs, this one can be downloaded free of charge. In fact, this can
be done through our own website, which is at
www.elliottco.com. Anyone needing
further ass8istance to get set up to receive online appraisals can call
the ELLIOTT® & Company Appraisers central office at (800) 854-5889.
Enhanced Website a
Client Resource
If you haven't visited
the website of ELLIOTT® & Company Appraisers lately, you should be in
for a pleasant surprise the next time you do. Recent improvements to the
site have made it an information center for the real estate world. Over
60 links have been installed, enabling our website visitors to
immediately connect with directories or websites of real estate
companies, associations, government agencies or other sources of
critical information for someone in the business.
The ELLIOTT® &
Company Appraisers website provides other information about us,
including past newsletters, franchise information and a directory of
offices. As mentioned in the above article, Adobe® Reader can now be
downloaded into a client's computer from our website, enabling that
client to order and receive appraisals from us via-email.

Today, as appraisal clients and
appraisers, we find ourselves increasingly responsible for greater
efficiency on a regular basis. This ranges from simply providing a quick
service to charging less for more service. Thus we have the evolution of
the limited appraisal. Some "old school" appraisers resist offering this
service and favor the more detailed and expensive complete appraisal. At
ELLIOTT® & Company Appraisers we see this complacency and independence
on the part of the appraiser as a less than noble excuse, which ignores
the needs of the client.
We at ELLIOTT® & Company Appraisers believe that a high quality limited
appraisal can be performed in most cases at a reduced fee and in less
time. So while not everyone will always require a limited appraisal, we
offer this product with confidence. We are familiar with all of the
limited formats and can insure that all professional standards are
followed. If, as a client, you would like to learn more about the
benefits of limited appraisals, call me or the manager of any of our
offices.

Company Appraisers. Bobby, who has lived in Greensboro for over 30
years, holds a bachelor of administrative science degree in business
management from Guilford College. Brown joined ELLIOTT® at the beginning
of 2000 and is a North Carolina State Certified appraiser with seven

three new appraisers have recently joined the Asheville office. John
Sentelle, Lisa Trail and Jackie Weems have come aboard John Allred's
office in the mountains of western North Carolina. Sentelle, who lives
in Brevard, N.C., will be handling appraisals in Transylvania,
Henderson, and Jackson Counties. Another new ELLIOTT® staff appraiser is
Louise Perry at the Greensboro office. Perry and Bill Parker, of the
Boone office, have recently become FHA approved.
For the fourth consecutive
year, ELLIOTT® & Company Appraisers is sponsoring an appraiser
continuing education seminar that offers 14 hours of state
re-certification credit. The upcoming seminar will be held at the
meeting facilities of Greensboro (NC) Realtors Association on March 8
and 9, 2001. It will be entitled "Sharpening Your Appraisal Tools" and
conducted by Joseph S. Durrer, Jr., MAI, SRA. Mr. Durrer, a
distinguished appraiser/educator from Roanoke, Va., will cover four
different subjects of current importance for those in the business. All
appraisers are welcome. For further information call the corporate
headquarters at (800) 854-5889. |
