FHA Loans are insured by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. All FHA Appraisals must be prepared by appraisers listed on the FHA Roster of Appraisers and prepared in accordance with FHA Appraisal Guidelines. Properties found by the appraiser to have major deficiencies requiring repair necessitate that the appraiser include within the appraisal a cost to cure for such deficiencies. Other deficiencies may require the services of an engineer or other professional where simple repairs may not be sufficient. This may call for an automatic inspection as ordered by the appraiser.
